Finally, snow brings cheer to Auli, Uttarakhand hills

Auli, the skiing resort, ends long dry spell with fresh snow, bringing cheer to hotel owners. Auli received 1-2mm snowfall after a dry season, raising hopes for winter sports. Other areas in Garhwal and Kumaon also witnessed snow activity. Officials at the regional meteorological centre said on Thursday: “Auli received around 1-2mm snowfall during the short spell, which lasted for a couple of hours on Wednesday night. Joshimath, located 16km before Auli, recorded 1mm rain.”
