Former Sebi chief to head panel on ending monopolies in gas transmission and marketing

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board has set up a committee under former Sebi chairman Ajay Tyagi to tackle monopolies in natural gas transportation and marketing. The panel will explore splitting entities involved in both sectors and ending city gas retailers’ monopolies, with recommendations due in three months.
