From 9-year-old prodigies to 84-year grandmother, chess has no age limit

The 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest gathers nearly 2,000 participants from almost 200 countries. Highlights include Vasyl Ivanchuk’s return for Ukraine, an 84-year-old participant, and five nine-year-old prodigies. The Cayman Islands and Luxembourg have the oldest teams by average age; Mongolia is the youngest team.
