Government extends deadline of mandatory automated transport vehicle fitness test by 6 months

The road transport ministry has extended the deadline for mandatory fitness tests for transport vehicles by six months, due to the limited number of operational Automated Testing Stations (ATS) in India. Currently, there are only 81 ATS, with 24 located in Gujarat, and many states lacking even one operational station. This timeline extension aims to address the shortage.
