Government plans to double edible oil production within 7 years

India has approved a Rs 101 billion programme aimed at doubling the nation’s edible oil production within seven years to reduce dependency on imports. The initiative focuses on high-yield, high-oil content varieties and advanced technologies, increasing production to 25.45 million tons by 2030-31.
