Government states why woman needs hubby’s NOC for name change

The government informed Rajya Sabha that the clarification on the requirement for a married woman to obtain an NOC from her husband to revert to her maiden surname aimed to avoid legal issues. This follows a woman’s petition challenging the notification in Delhi high court, which is set for hearing on August 7th.
