Government to create 75,000 new medical college seats in 5 years

In his Independence Day address, PM Modi announced plans to add 75,000 new medical seats across India over the next five years. He expressed concern over students going abroad for medical education and emphasized India’s potential as a global education hub, inspired by the ancient Nalanda university model. The new campus was inaugurated in Bihar in June.
