Government to regulate WhatsApp, Telegram and others: DoT officials issue clarification

The Department of Telecommunications clarified that it does not plan to regulate OTT communication apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. This came after telecom operators sought regulations under the same-service, same-rule principle.
