Govt: Kavach on Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Howrah lines by Mar 2025

In response to the Kanchanjungha Express tragedy, Indian Railways announced plans to implement unified rules for loco pilots concerning speed and precautions during signal failures. The railway will deploy the Kavach system on 5,000 km and install automatic train protection on 9,000 km track by March 2025. New trains will come pre-installed with Kavach 4.0.
