Gujarat man sentenced to 5 years for espionage linked to Pakistan intelligence

An NIA Special Court in Lucknow has sentenced Gujarat native Anas Yaqub Giteli to five years imprisonment for his role in a Pakistan-operated espionage case. Giteli and former Indian Army signalman Saurabh Sharma conspired to share confidential information with Pakistani intelligence. Sharma was previously convicted by the same court in August 2024.
