Haldwani violence: SC asks Centre to chalk out rehabilitation plan

The Supreme Court has ordered the Railways and Central Government to create a rehabilitation scheme for families on encroached land near Haldwani Railway Station in Uttarakhand. This follows Banbhoolpura’s violent February anti-encroachment operation which caused six deaths and over 100 injuries, affecting police and journalists. Authorities have a four-week deadline before a hearing on September 11.
