Hamas released two more captives on Monday night from Gaza to Egypt, Israel confirmed. Their husbands are still captive as a part of 222 hostages Hamas abducted on October 7. The women were released following the entry of 20 trucks of humanitarian aid into Gaza and amid claims that Qatar had separately obtained the release of about 50 foreign-passport holding detainees. These two Israeli women were not a part of the agreement. “We decided to release them for compelling humanitarian and health reasons,” Hamas spokesman Abu Ubaida said.
