HC allows student to play in cricket tournament

The Delhi High Court has allowed a student to play in a cricket match organized by the directorate of education (DoE) after he was denied the opportunity due to a delay in his birth certificate issuance. The court expressed concern that the boy’s career prospects should not be harmed solely due to the lack of a birth certificate. The student, who is the captain of his school’s cricket team, will now be able to participate in the Delhi State School Games. The student’s birth certificate was issued three years after his birth.
