High court suspends Odisha ex-MLA’s life-term for cop’s murder

The Orissa High Court suspended the life sentences of former Chhatrapur MLA Nagireddy Narayan Reddy and two others, who were convicted in the 1998 murder of a police inspector during a land acquisition protest. They were granted bail pending hearings fixed for November 5, 2023. The inspector died after a bomb was hurled at him.
