How AI can detect wildfires and protect wildlife

Researchers at the University of South Australia have pioneered a new method for detecting wildfires using AI-equipped cubesats, set to launch soon. The Kanyini cubesat aims to detect fires within just 14 minutes, vastly improving current satellite capabilities, which take up to 8 hours. This rapid detection could significantly aid in faster response times and ecological restoration efforts.
