IBM is shutting down research labs in this country, to layoff 1000 employees

IBM ceased its R&D operations in China, leading to over 1,000 layoffs in cities like Beijing and Shanghai. The decision was part of a strategic adjustment to better serve clients across the Greater China region. IBM will now focus on assisting private enterprises and select multinationals with hybrid cloud and AI solutions.
