IISc Team Finds Sustainable Surfactant from Agri Waste

Researchers at IISc developed a sustainable surfactant from cashew nut shell liquid, offering an eco-friendly alternative to toxic organic solvents in chemical synthesis. Led by Professor Susanta Hazra, the surfactant, CNSL-1000-M, demonstrated efficiency in catalysing vital reactions for anticancer drugs and LEDs, promising sustainability and cost savings in industrial chemistry.
