IMD predicts ‘deep depression’, flash flood risk over parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department reported a ‘deep depression’ causing heavy rains and flood risk in East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Flooding in Gujarat prompted Union Home Minister Amit Shah to assure the state’s officials of central assistance. Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel ordered evacuations from low-lying areas, with southern Gujarat districts being the most affected.
