In Chennai, gang charges Rs 800 an hour to use corporation sports turf

A sports turf in Pallikaranai was occupied by men charging ₹800 an hour without authorization from the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC). Civic activist M Radhakrishnan discovered the issue when attempting to book the facility. Councillor Babu denied collecting money. The GCC has since removed the unauthorized signs and plans to appoint an official contractor soon.
