India face formidable Japan in Olympic Qualifiers

The senior Indian women’s football team will be competing in Round 2 of the AFC Olympic Qualifiers in Uzbekistan. Their first match will be against Japan, the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup winners. Despite the gap in rankings, head coach Thomas Dennerby believes that the team should approach the game with a positive mindset and not just focus on defending. He also believes that the team has improved since their previous friendly match against Uzbekistan and has a good chance of performing well in the tournament.
