India finished with six medals, including Neeraj Chopra’s silver in the men’s javelin, besides many other notable performances at the Paris Olympics, but there was an urgent need for a “system overhaul”, said former India No. 1 women’s tennis player Nirupama Sanjeev. Chopra became the first Indian to win a gold and silver in an individual event at the Olympics while finishing behind Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem on the podium. At the shooting range, Manu Bhaker narrowly missed out on a hat-trick of bronze medals, climbing the podium in air pistol and mixed team air pistol with Sarabjot Singh.
