India’s mineral production rises 12.3% in August

India’s mineral production in August 2023 rose by 12.3% compared to the same month in 2022, with an index of 111.9. The cumulative growth for April to August 2023 increased by 8.3%. Notable outputs included 684 lakh tonnes of coal, 28 lakh tonnes of lignite, and 14.28 lakh tonnes of bauxite. Some minerals showed positive growth, such as gold, phosphorite, manganese ore, and iron ore, while others, like bauxite, zinc conc, lignite, and lead, exhibited negative growth.
