Copper demand in India is expected to reach 1,522 KT in 2023, according to a study by the International Copper Association India. This surge in demand follows consecutive years of growth after a contraction in FY21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The transportation and construction sectors are primary drivers of this growth, with increased electrification and modernization of railways, the addition of rapid transportation, and a rise in sales of automobiles and electric vehicles.
