Iran pardons Grammy Award winner whose song became anthem to 2022 protests

Iranian Grammy Award winner Shervin Hajipour announced he was pardoned from serving a three-year sentence related to his protest anthem after Mahsa Amini’s death. His song ‘Baraye’ became an anthem for the 2022 protests against Iran’s ruling theocracy. The case dismissal came after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei pardoned 2,887 prisoners.
