Israel to pay compensation for ships damaged in Gaza war

Israel has announced that it will provide compensation for ships that are damaged due to the war in Gaza. The government is also taking steps to minimize risks for vessels using the country’s ports. Israel relies on its seaports for trade and basic needs, and compensation will be awarded for “war damage” caused to Israeli or foreign vessels. Additional war risk insurance premiums have increased for ships calling at Israeli ports, and some vessels have diverted to the north.
