J&K poll dates to be announced after final security review: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated that the Election Commission was committed to holding assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir as soon as possible. However, the final dates would be determined following a security assessment in New Delhi. Despite recent attacks, security forces assured readiness for peaceful elections. J&K has been under central rule since June 2018.
