Karnataka: October rains cause major crop damage

October rains caused more damage to horticulture crops in Karnataka than the South West monsoon did from June to September. The North Karnataka region was the worst affected. Farmers are demanding quick compensation for the loss. Davanagere had the highest excess rainfall, while Dharwad, Belagavi, and Haveri were severely impacted.
