Key accused in SL human trafficking case arrested

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the kingpin of a human trafficking racket, Mohamed Imran Khan, who was involved in attempting to illegally send 61 Sri Lankan nationals abroad after bringing them to India. Imran Khan, along with a Sri Lankan national named Eesan, lured individuals with false promises of legitimate documentation for emigration to Canada and employment. The NIA has been tracking Imran Khan’s movements for several months and has so far arrested 13 suspects in the case. Imran Khan played a pivotal role in a broader conspiracy involving international human trafficking.
