Khap bodies, farm unions demand release of Neelam Azad

Khaps and farmer unions in Jind’s Narwana protested for the release of activist Neelam Verma, or Neelam Azad, who was detained outside Parliament. They demanded the withdrawal of the unlawful activities act against her and a fair investigation. Farmer leader Azad Palwa said that they have submitted a memorandum to Narwana SDM on the name of president demanding the release of Neelam and revocation of stringent laws against her.Neelam’s brother said she was unemployed and frustrated and only raised her voice. The head of Kandela khap stated that all sections of society would protest until Neelam is released.
