Kulgam Assembly Election Result 2024: CPI’s strong hold to witness polls after decade; PDP, independent candidates in fray

Kulgam, a competitive Jammu and Kashmir constituency, showed notable contests in past elections. In 2014, CPI(M) candidate Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami narrowly defeated JKPDP’s Nazir Ahmad Laway. Previous elections in 2008, 2002, and 1996 also saw close contests, with CPI(M) prevailing over their rivals. Voter turnout varied but remained significant through the years.
