Lakshadweep MP disqualified for second time within a year

Lok Sabha MP P P Mohammed Faizal has been disqualified from the House for the second time this year after the Kerala high court rejected his plea for suspension of conviction in an attempted murder case. The disqualification is effective from January 11, 2023, the date of his initial conviction. Faizal had previously been disqualified in January but was reinstated in March after a challenge in the Supreme Court.
