LU dept gets patent for gas sensor that can detect toxic air
The physics department at Lucknow University has been granted an Indian patent for a gas sensor that can detect toxic air such as carbon dioxide. The sensor is made from a clay and fly ash composite, making it 10 times cheaper than other sensors on the market. The aim of the sensor is to provide an affordable option for the general public, students, researchers, and scientists. It can detect toxic gases within seconds. The sensor was designed by Associate Prof CR Gautam and his team, and manufactured and tested by Prof Bal Chandra Yadav and Ajit Singh.
