Maharashtra assembly polls: 1,181 polling booths to be set up in housing societies

In an effort to curb urban voter apathy, Maharashtra will set up 1,181 polling booths in housing societies and highrise buildings for the upcoming assembly polls. Mumbai suburban areas will have the highest number of these booths. The Election Commission of India aims to ensure minimal facilities and better voter inclusion in these urban areas.
