Maharashtra extends free LPG scheme to ‘Ladki Bahin’ beneficiaries; cost up 4x to Rs 3,200 crore

The Mahayuti government expanded the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana to include beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana, tripling the number of recipients and raising the scheme’s cost significantly. The initiative will now provide three free gas cylinders annually to many underprivileged women, benefiting from both Ujjwala and Ladki Bahin Yojanas. The subsidy will be reimbursed after purchase.
