Man ‘loses’ phone, murders friend on suspicion of theft

A man in Ludhiana bludgeoned his friend to death with a log after suspecting him of stealing his mobile phone. The victim and the accused were consuming liquor together when the incident occurred. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The accused has been arrested and charged with murder. The police recovered the accused’s mobile phone from the crime scene.
