‘Manjummel Boys’ assistant director, sculptor Anil Xavier passes away at 39

Anil Xavier, notable Malayalam sculptor and assistant director, died at 39 in Kochi on Tuesday due to a heart condition. Known for his work on ‘Jan-e-Man’ and ‘Thallumaala’, Anil also contributed to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and was active in art education. His body will be donated for medical studies, per his wish. He is survived by his wife Anupama Elias, mother Alphonsa Xavier, and brother Ajeesh Xavier.
