Minister flags false claims by air purifier manufacturers; BIS to intensify market surveillance

Consumer affairs minister Pralhad Joshi flags concerns over false claims by some air purifier manufacturers ahead of NCR’s pollution spike. BIS to intensify market surveillance and possibly introduce mandatory standards. The government is also considering making BIS standards compulsory for public procurement on GeM.
