Modi cancels October 30 poll trip to Mizoram, Shah to fill in for him

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cancelled his scheduled visit to the Mamit assembly constituency on the Mizoram-Tripura-Bangladesh border. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will now be visiting the constituency in place of the PM, although the exact date is yet to be confirmed. This decision comes after Mizoram CM Zoramthanga announced that he would not share the stage with the PM due to alleged attacks on churches in neighbouring Manipur, which is governed by the BJP. Political observers believe that the BJP may be hesitant to visit Mamit before visiting Manipur.
