Move to introduce private member’s bill on binding governors creates ruckus

Rajya Sabha erupted in uproar on Friday afternoon when Kerala MP John Brittas attempted to introduce a private member’s bill. The bill aimed to make governors constitutionally bound by the advice of the state council of ministers. In a rare occurrence, the introduction of the bill was defeated as treasury benches voted against it.
