Murders over iftar: Old well still haunts villagers

A court in Bulandshahr has awarded a death sentence to Mohd Salman and his two accomplices for killing three children in retaliation for not being invited to an iftar. The villagers hope that the sentence will bring closure, as memories of the gruesome killings continue to haunt them. The tubewell where the bodies were found remains dry due to a land dispute. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.72 lakh on each of the convicts. The mother of one of the victims expresses relief at the verdict.
