Nearly 50 years apart, Delhi serves as safe haven from tumult & extremism for Hasina

Sheikh Hasina returned to India after nearly fifty years amid political tension in Bangladesh. Reminded of her 1975 exile following her father’s assassination, she arrived at Hindon Air Force base and reminisced about her past years in Delhi. She then lived in Delhi under Indira Gandhi’s protection before returning to her homeland in 1981.
