New criminal laws come into effect: One of first FIRs registered in Delhi

In Delhi, the first FIR under the newly implemented Section 173 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) was filed on Monday, coinciding with the enforcement of the recent criminal law amendments. The FIR states that Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Barh, Bihar, was apprehended and charged under Section 285 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
