New French nuclear reactor resumes operations

France’s European Pressurised Reactor in Flamanville resumed operations after an automatic shutdown earlier this week. The reactor faced significant delays and cost overruns, taking 12 years and costing 13.2 billion euros. It is expected to connect to the grid by late autumn and will eventually supply electricity to around three million homes.
