New inquiry into SSR ex-manager’s death

The state home department has directed the Mumbai police commissioner to carry out a revised probe into the death of celebrity PR manager Disha Salian, following demands from Shiv Sena and BJP MLAs. A senior inspector of Malwani police station will conduct the investigation under guidance from DCP Ajay Bansal and additional commissioner Rajiv Jain. The death of Disha Salian is being debated and new material evidence may emerge. The Mumbai Police had previously conducted an investigation and filed a final summary report in 2021, finding no foul play. The government had announced the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) but it was not formed until now.
