NGT report: No discharge of industrial waste into sewer

The fact-finding committee appointed by the National Green Tribunal to investigate the gas leak tragedy in Ludhiana has released its report. The report rules out the discharge of industrial effluents into the sewer system as the cause of the incident. Instead, it suggests that poor ventilation and the choking of sewer lines may have led to the gas leak, which resulted in the death of eleven people. The report also states that no chemical discharge or acid consuming industry was found in the vicinity of the incident site.
