Nigerian air force expands fleet with 34 Italian jets, helicopters

Nigeria’s air force is acquiring 24 Italian-made M-346 attack jets and ten AW-109 Trekker helicopters, with the first jets expected by early 2025. This is part of a strategy focused on fleet renewal to strengthen the military against armed bandits and insurgent groups Boko Haram and ISWAP.
