No overnight stay, but Pakistan plans resort in Kartarpur
The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), Pakistan, plans to build a resort near Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib, to attract Sikh pilgrims and enhance religious tourism. The five-storeyed Darshan Resort, costing 300 million Pakistani rupees, will include 10 suite rooms, a theatre, and a gym offering a panoramic view of Kartarpur corridor and the gurdwara complex. The groundbreaking ceremony is expected in January, with completion by the end of 2024. Indian pilgrims visiting Kartarpur Sahib are currently not allowed to stay overnight.
