No proof to attribute ‘political motive’, HC dismisses Singh’s plea

The Delhi High Court has dismissed a plea challenging the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. The court stated that it cannot impute a political motive to the investigating agency without any evidence. It emphasized that the reputation of the agency is directly related to the reputation of the country as a fair entity. The court also highlighted that a public figure’s political future can be adversely affected by pending criminal proceedings.
