Norms to curb ‘all kinds’ of school punishment in UP

The state government of Lucknow issued new guidelines to eliminate all forms of punishment in schools, including corporal, mental harassment, and discrimination. Directed by Kanchan Verma, the focus is on students’ physical and mental well-being. Schools must set up forums and complaint boxes for students, with training modules on safety, and a new toll-free assistance number was introduced.
