Onus on user to delete data on deactivated mobile no: SC

The Supreme Court has ruled that mobile service providers in India can allocate deactivated numbers to new subscribers after a 90-day period. The court dismissed a petition by an advocate who wanted to stop providers from issuing deactivated numbers to new customers. The court stated that it is the responsibility of the previous subscriber to delete any data shared on WhatsApp or elsewhere to protect their privacy.
